Over here at Guru HQ, our #1 New Year's resolution for 2020 is to put on a kick-ass conference. The good news is that we’re getting a jump on our goals. We’ve already locked down some incredible speakers for our Empower 2020 conference, and as a holiday treat, we are giving you a sneak peak of who you can look forward to hearing from at Empower

Keynote Speaker 

We’re focused on ensuring that our keynote speakers highlight real experiences that will resonate. We’re not interested in high-level industry fluff that will leave you with no actionable takeaways to bring back to your organization. You can expect to hear from an engaging array of speakers with colorful stories and meaningful insights. This lineup will leave you with plenty of food for thought to enact change within your organization post-empower.

As we gear up for Empower 2020 we're excited to announce one of our key note speakers, April Dunford: 


April is a consultant and author of the best-selling book Obviously Awesome: How to Nail Product Positioning so Customers Get it, Buy it, Love It. April helps companies make complicated products easy for customers to understand and love. She is a globally recognized expert in positioning, having launched 16 products across her 25-year career as VP Marketing at a series of successful startups.

Lightning Talks 

Lightning talks will follow morning and afternoon keynotes on each day of the conference. This short-form speaker series will be track-specific, so you can expect these conversations to  be tailored to your area of interest; be it CX Enablement & Ops, Knowledge Management, or Sales Enablement. Here’s a teaser of some of the lightning talk speakers you’ll hear from: 

  • Ali Berman | CX @ Slack |

    • Ali is the Senior Technical Operations Strategist over at Slack. She is bringing tons of experience in the space of knowledge management and technical documentation. Check out this blog post to learn a little more about Slack’s CX teams adoption of Guru and how Ali thinks about the role of knowledge management for customer experience team.

  • Michelle Kanan | Sales Enablement @ Gong |

    • Michelle is the Director of Sales Enablement at Gong and oversees their enablement efforts across all the GTM teams. To get an idea of her enablement experience and hear her speak ahead of time, check out this webinar we hosted with Michelle where she breaks down the 7 habits of highly effective enablement professionals.

  • Kayde Givens | Sales Enablement @ Carta |

    • Kayde is the Senior Sales Enablement Manager at Carta and has worked in the space of adult education and Learning and Development for over eight years. She is an experienced public speaker with a passion for problem solving and communication and we’re looking forward to hearing her thoughts on the role that L&D plays in modern enablement strategies.

  • Chad Dyer | Sales Enablement @ Hearsay |

    • Chad is an enablement extraordinaire, currently working as the Director of Sales Enablement and Strategy at Hearsay. His recent book, Bring Your Best Self to Work 

      explores pursuing professional success by making time for intentional human interactions. He got his start on the stage as an opera singer but nowadays spends more time speaking at sales conferences. 

  • Charles Derupe | Sales Content Management @ Square |

    • Looking for some content management conversation? Charles is the Sales Tools and Content Manager at Square. His affinity for unique problem solving led him to a career in Sales Content and Enablement, to hear him chat about organizational knowledge and the value of a knowledge audit, give this webinar a listen! 

  • Brooke Wayne | CX Communications @ FreshBooks |

    • Brooke is the Communications Program Lead at FreshBooks. She was the first person at her company to work full-time on documentation and is internally known as the “Batman for Support Documentation.” Take a look at some of her industry thought leadership on her blog.
